Glyde Rideshare Mobility Pvt Ltd Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION]

Glyde Rideshare Mobility Pvt Ltd ("Company", "we", "our", "us") values your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our app and services, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

It is written to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 ("DPDP Act"). In its language you are a Data Principal and we are the Data Fiduciary.

1. Consent

1.1 We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account and accept our User Agreement, and for certain purposes on the basis of legitimate uses permitted by the DPDP Act, such as complying with a legal obligation.

1.2 You may withdraw your consent at any time (see §6). Withdrawing consent for data we need in order to provide the Services means we can no longer provide them to you, and your account will be closed.

1.3 Granting the app a device permission — camera or location — is not the same as consenting under this policy. We ask separately, and you can withdraw either.

2. Age

2.1 Our Services are available only to people aged 18 and above. We verify your age against the date of birth recorded against your Aadhaar, and we do not open accounts below that age.

2.2 We do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a person under 18 holds an account, contact us using the details in §9.

2.3 We do not use your personal data for advertising, tracking or behavioural profiling at any age. The app contains no analytics or advertising software.

3. What we collect

3.1 Account details. Your mobile number, which is verified by one-time password, and the name and contact details you give us, including an emergency contact if you choose to add one.

3.2 Profile. The details you enter or edit in the app.

3.3 Identity verification. Before your first ride you verify your identity using your Aadhaar number and a one-time password, through our verification partner. We do not store your full Aadhaar number — only its last four digits. From the verification response we retain the details Aadhaar holds about you:

We use your date of birth to confirm you are old enough to ride, and your name, date of birth and the last four digits together to ensure one person holds one account. We do not use this record for any other purpose, we do not share it, and we do not use it to market to you.

These details are deleted when you close your account — see §5.2A for what little remains and why.

3.4 Location.

3.5 Parking photographs. At the end of every ride you photograph the parked vehicle. We store that photograph against the ride, together with your device's location at the moment the photograph was taken and the time it was taken. We use them only to confirm the vehicle was parked correctly and, where it was not, to decide whether a parking penalty applies. A person reviews the case before any penalty is charged.

3.6 Payments and wallet. We keep a record of money you add to your Glyde Wallet, fares charged, refunds and any penalties. Card, UPI and bank details are handled entirely by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments. We do not receive or store your card number or bank credentials.

3.7 Ride and usage data. Ride history, duration, start and end points, ratings and feedback you give us, and technical information about your device such as its operating system and app version.

4. Why we use it, and who we share it with

4.1 We use your personal data to provide the Services: to open and secure your account, verify your identity and age, unlock vehicles, calculate and charge fares, verify parking, handle refunds and complaints, keep the fleet safe and working, and meet our legal obligations.

4.2 We share personal data only with the processors we need to run the Services, and only what each needs:

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
Cashfree PaymentsYour mobile number and an order reference when you add money; your Aadhaar number at the moment of verificationPayment processing; Aadhaar OTP verification
Google FirebaseYour mobile numberSending and verifying the login OTP
MapMyIndia / MapplsLocation coordinatesMaps, directions, vehicle telemetry
AnthropicThe parking photographAn automated first check of whether a vehicle is parked correctly. It never results in a charge on its own

4.3 We may disclose personal data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

4.4 We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

5.1 We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is open.

5.2 When you close your account we erase your profile — your email address, emergency contact and the other details you entered — and replace your mobile number with a non-identifying placeholder. What we keep, and for how long, is set out on our account deletion page.

5.2A The identity details we received from Aadhaar (§3.3) are deleted when your account closes. We keep only a record that a verification took place — the date, our verification partner's reference, and the consent you gave — and a one-way token that lets us tell that an account with this identity existed before, without holding the identity itself. The token cannot be turned back into your name, address or Aadhaar details.

5.3 We keep payment and ride transaction records for eight financial years, because the Companies Act 2013 requires a company to preserve its books of account for that period. Once your account closes these are held in a form no longer linked to your name or contact details.

5.4 We keep parking photographs, and the location recorded when they were taken, for 90 days after the ride — or until a related dispute is concluded, if that is later. The window to dispute a parking penalty is 30 days, so 90 days covers it with room to spare.

5.5 We keep support and complaint records for three years.

5.6 Records needed for an open dispute or legal proceeding are kept until it concludes.

6. Your rights

You may:

6.1 Access — ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with.

6.2 Correct — ask us to correct or complete anything inaccurate. You can edit most of your profile in the app directly.

6.3 Erase — ask us to delete your personal data, or close your account from within the app. We keep only what the law requires us to keep.

6.4 Withdraw consent — as easily as you gave it. See §1.2 for what follows.

6.5 Nominate — name another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

6.6 Complain — see §9.

How to exercise them. Through the app (Menu → Help & Support), or by writing to the contact in §9. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.

7. How we protect it

7.1 Session credentials are stored in your device's secure storage — the Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android.

7.2 Data in transit is encrypted.

7.3 Access to personal data inside Glyde is limited to the people who need it.

7.4 No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

8. Cookies

Our website sets no cookies of its own, and carries no analytics or advertising software — consistent with §2.3. The one exception is the Account deletion page, where Google sets cookies through Firebase and reCAPTCHA while verifying your mobile number by one-time password. The app does not use cookies.

9. Contact, and complaints about your data

For anything about your personal data — access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint about how we have handled it:

Data Protection Contact Name: Vignesh Kadarabad, Founder Email: [DATA PROTECTION EMAIL]

Our full complaints process, including our Grievance Officer and the timelines we work to, is published at Grievance Redressal.

If we do not resolve your complaint, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
