Glyde Rideshare Mobility Pvt Ltd Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION] · Version 2026-08-24
Welcome to Glyde Rideshare Mobility Pvt Ltd ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). This User Agreement ("Agreement") is a legally binding contract between you ("you", "your") and the Company, governing your use of our website, mobile applications and services (together, the "Services") in Mumbai, India.
By accessing or using the Services you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
1.1 You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services. Your age is verified against the date of birth recorded against your Aadhaar during identity verification, and the Services will not be made available to you below that age.
1.2 The vehicles offered through the Services are low-speed electric scooters, limited to 25 km/h with a motor rating of 250W or less. Under Indian law a vehicle of this class requires no driving licence and no registration. You remain responsible for riding lawfully and safely.
1.3 By using the Services you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
2. Your account
2.1 You need an account to use the Services. You agree to give accurate, current and complete information when you register, to keep your account credentials confidential, and to tell us immediately if someone else uses your account.
2.2 You are responsible for everything done through your account.
2.3 Using the Services requires you to grant the app access to your device's camera, to scan the QR code that unlocks a vehicle and to photograph the parked vehicle at the end of a ride, and to your device's location, to show you nearby vehicles, give directions, and record where a ride began and ended. You can withdraw these permissions in your device settings, but the Services cannot function without them.
3. Using the Services
3.1 You agree to use the Services in compliance with all applicable laws, including traffic and vehicle safety laws.
3.2 You must not:
- ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- carry a passenger, or carry illegal or hazardous goods;
- ride anywhere motor vehicles are prohibited, or against the direction of traffic;
- let anyone else ride a vehicle unlocked with your account;
- tamper with, dismantle or attempt to repair a vehicle, its lock or its electronics; or
- use the Services for any unlawful or harmful purpose.
3.3 We strongly recommend wearing a helmet. Helmets are not supplied with the vehicles.
4. Fares and payment
4.1 The fare for a ride is an unlock fee, plus a distance charge for the kilometres ridden, plus a per-minute charge for each minute begun. Part minutes are charged as whole minutes; part kilometres are charged pro-rata. The rates in force are shown in the app before you start a ride.
4.2 Fares are charged to your Glyde Wallet when a ride ends.
4.3 We may change fares, or introduce new charges, with notice through the app or website. The rates that apply to a ride are the ones shown when you start it.
4.4 We do not operate our own payment services. Card, UPI and bank payments are processed by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments (https://www.cashfree.com). We do not receive or store your card number or bank credentials.
4.5 Refunds are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.
5. The Glyde Wallet
5.1 The Services are paid for from a prepaid balance held in your Glyde Wallet ("Wallet"). You add money to the Wallet in advance and fares are deducted from it.
5.2 The Wallet is a closed-system prepaid instrument. The balance may be used only to pay for Glyde's own services. It cannot be withdrawn as cash, transferred to another person, or used to pay any third party.
5.3 The Wallet balance is not a deposit and not a security deposit. We do not hold it separately on your behalf and pay no interest on it.
5.4 You must hold a minimum balance in your Wallet to begin a ride. That minimum is a spending threshold, not a deposit — it is your money, it is spent on your own rides, and it is refundable under §5.5. The amount in force is shown in the app, and we may change it on notice.
5.5 You may request a refund of your Wallet balance at any time. Refunds are returned to the original payment method used to add the money, and are split across the original payments where your balance was funded by more than one. Refunds cannot be paid to a different method, to another person, or as cash. Payments older than 180 days may no longer be reversible through our payment provider. Full terms are in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
5.6 Any promotional credit, cashback or ride credit we grant you is not money you have paid. It is held separately from your own balance, is not refundable, and may carry an expiry.
6. Parking
6.1 You must end each ride with the vehicle parked lawfully and considerately: upright, within a permitted parking area shown in the app, and not obstructing a footpath, doorway, gateway, driveway, ramp, or the movement of pedestrians or traffic.
6.2 At the end of every ride you must photograph the parked vehicle using the camera in the app. The photograph must be taken at the vehicle, at the time you end the ride. It cannot be chosen from your photo library.
6.3 When you take that photograph the app records your device's location at that moment. It is used only to confirm the photograph was taken at the vehicle.
6.4 Until you provide the photograph you will not be able to start another ride.
6.5 A ride remains your responsibility until it is properly ended. You must not leave a ride running and walk away from the vehicle.
7. Parking penalty and reserved amounts
7.1 We may charge a parking penalty of ₹100 where, following a ride:
- (a) no photograph is provided within 24 hours of the ride ending;
- (b) you tell us you are unable to provide one; or
- (c) review of the photograph and the associated location data shows the vehicle was not parked as §6.1 requires.
7.2 From the end of each ride until parking is confirmed, we may reserve an amount equal to the penalty within your Wallet balance. A reserved amount remains your money and is not a charge. It cannot be spent or refunded while reserved, and it is released as soon as parking is confirmed.
7.3 Where the photograph or its location data is inconclusive, or where our automated checks disagree with each other, a person at Glyde reviews the case before any penalty is charged. Automated checks alone will never result in a charge.
7.4 A penalty is taken from the amount reserved under §7.2. Where that amount could not be taken in full, the shortfall remains payable to us.
7.5 You may dispute a penalty by contacting support within 30 days of it being charged. We will review the photograph and the location data, and refund the penalty if your dispute is upheld. If you are not satisfied with that review, §14 applies.
7.6 We may change the penalty amount on notice through the app. The amount that applies to a ride is the one shown in the app when you end it.
8. Identity verification
8.1 You must complete identity verification before your first ride. This is done using your Aadhaar and a one-time password, through our verification partner.
8.2 We do not store your full Aadhaar number — only its last four digits. We retain the details Aadhaar holds about you, being your name, date of birth, gender and permanent address. We use your date of birth to confirm your age, and your name, date of birth and the last four digits to prevent duplicate accounts. We delete these details when you close your account. What we do with them meanwhile, and what little survives closure, is described in our Privacy Policy.
8.3 One verified identity may hold one Glyde account. Where a second account is attempted with the same verified identity, registration is declined and you will be directed to support.
9. Vehicles
9.1 Treat vehicles and equipment with care. You are liable for damage resulting from your misuse or negligence.
9.2 Report damage, malfunction, or an unsafe vehicle through the app before riding it. Report theft or loss immediately.
9.3 Vehicles report their own location to us continuously, including while parked, for fleet management and to locate vehicles reported lost or stolen. That is location data about the vehicle. It relates to you only while you are riding it.
10. Suspension, termination and closing your account
10.1 We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of this Agreement, or where required by law.
10.2 You may close your account at any time from within the app, or by contacting support. See Account deletion.
10.3 Before an account can be closed, any ride in progress must be ended and any remaining Wallet balance must be refunded to you. We will not close an account while money is still held in it.
10.4 Closing your account does not cancel amounts you already owe.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that a vehicle will be available at any particular time or place.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding six months. Nothing in this Agreement limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
13. Your personal data
How we collect, use and protect your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.
14. Complaints and grievance redressal
14.1 If something goes wrong, contact support through the app first. Most issues are resolved there.
14.2 If your complaint is unresolved, or you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may escalate it to our Grievance Officer, Vignesh Kadarabad. Contact details and the timelines we work to are published at Grievance Redressal.
14.3 Nothing in this Agreement limits your right to approach a consumer commission, the National Consumer Helpline, or any other authority.
15. Changes to this Agreement
15.1 We may change this Agreement. The current version is always published on our website.
15.2 Where we change it materially — in particular where we introduce or increase a charge — you will be asked to accept the new version in the app before continuing to use the Services. We record which version you accepted and when.
16. Dispute resolution and governing law
16.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.
16.2 Disputes shall be resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, seated in Mumbai, in English, before a sole arbitrator.
16.3 §16.2 does not prevent you bringing a claim before a consumer commission, and does not apply where mandatory consumer law gives you a different forum.
